I am so far behind updating the website. I’ve been so busy with cookie orders that I haven’t taken the time to post the pictures.

March 8th, 2010Happy New Year!
January 5th, 2010December was my busiest month yet. I shipped many orders of cookies sent as gifts, and also delivered many locally. I’m adding some new pictures to the photo gallery from December. Some were used as place settings. Some were used to hang on the Christmas tree like old-fashioned ornaments. Hopefully all were eaten and enjoyed!

December 8th, 2009I have just begun to start the many Christmas orders I have this month. Here are a few of the cookies I am making, with oh so many more designs to come!

December 4th, 2009I love baby shower cookies. I think they have been some of my favorite cookies to bake. I made these cookies for my friend Julie’s sister who was hosting a baby shower.
Next, we were on to softball cookies for Kayleigh’s last game of her softall season:

I made some football cookies for Deb’s son Chris. He turned 16 and had dinner with some family and football friends. I put their numbers on the helmets.
I had a fun order to do for a disco birthday party. Specific cookies were requested for Alfonzo’s 50th birthday, so we made disco balls, vinyl records and platform shoes. I took this picture with my cell phone so you can’t see the pretty sparkles on the disco ball cookie.

I came home to many cookie orders.
We started with an order of Spiderman cookies for Andrew’s 4th birthday party. Sadly, I didn’t take any pictures because I was in such a hurry to get them delivered, and I forgot. I do hope Andrew enjoyed them!
Next I had Thanksgiving cookies to bake. I mailed some to Richmond and some were delivered for a ride to Tenneessee.

November 4th, 2009This has been pumpkin cookie season for Sugar Cookie Creations. Almost every order lately has included pumpkins. We have delivered and shipped pumpkins all over!
I did some Sesame Street cookies for a little boy who just turned one.

And I did a large cookie with the Rock Band guitar for our neighbor’s 10th birthday.

I’m really enjoying trying new designs. This has been a lot of fun, maybe not so much for the recipient of the get well cookies, but for me it was a lot of fun to make!
Engagements and Weddings
September 23rd, 2009I was thrilled to be a part of an special engagement celebration. I made engagement ring cookies for a friend’s family dinner on Sunday. I used sugar crystals to make a little “bling” on the diamond, and silver luster dust for the ring. They were a little time consuming, but especially fun to make! I couldn’t decide whether to “punch” the middle and make it a real ring, but decided to leave more cookie this time.

Next, wedding cake cookies! I have a friend who is a wedding and event planner, and I made cookies for her to distribute at a presentation she was giving to students at a local college. You may link to A Splash of Elegance below.
This was especially fun for me because I was able to practice my skills making cakes with different patterns and designs. It was good practice for me and fun!

Place Settings and a Baby!
September 15th, 2009My friend Julie kindly sent pictures of the place setting cookies on the table for the bridal shower. The table was set so beautifully that I asked for a picture because I wanted to show you how the cookies looked on the plate. It was such a great idea, and I hope to do this again.

I’m also adding a picture of the cookies I made for a baby shower. I had so much fun with these cookies because shades of pink happen to be one of my favorites to mix. I could use lots of different cookie cutters and not have to mix a lot of colors. This makes for more time to enjoy the decorating!

Now I am off to finish decorating some football cookies to bring to a special friend tomorrow. She is a Bengals fan, but I’m going to throw a Redskins cookie in there and see if she notices…
A busy week!
September 12th, 2009This was a great week for Sugar Cookie Creations! I had five orders this week and had so much fun decorating. I’ve never thought of myself as creative, but when decorating, you really tap into those creative juices.
My first order was for a friend from high school. Her son was having a birthday and she wanted cookies to share with his little league football team. I made three dozen football helmet cookies decorated in his team colors.

Next I had two orders for another friend from high school. These orders were for her nephews who were turning three and four years old. This was fun to use lots of bright colors and also try out my new letter and number cookie cutters.

I also did a small order for one of my friends. She is a teacher and ordered these cookies to give to the other teachers in her grade. I took this picture on my BlackBerry so the colors aren’t as vivid in the pictures as they really are.

Finally, I did a dozen cookies to be used as place settings at a bridal shower. The colors were white, black with a splash of red. They looked very pretty on the table and I’m glad I got to see them set up.

My new convection double oven was delivered this week. I am very excited about it and can’t wait to get baking!
Blogging for Sugar Cookie Creations!
August 25th, 2009I am very excited to have a blog to go with my website. I will be able to update with pictures of current projects I am working on. You will be able to see lots of pictures here and it will be fun for me to share things with you.
Before I continue, I have to extend my appreciation and gratitude to my brother for completely designing my website, business cards, and all design relating to Sugar Cookie Creations. Without him, I would still be trying to figure out how to get a web domain (is that what it’s called?!). He has put a lot of time into designing a beautiful website to showcase my cookies. Thank you, Phil!
In business news, I have ordered a new convection double oven and I’m so excited for it to arrive. I have four orders to work on the first week of September and I can’t wait to bake them in my new oven!
